The Forward Party

60% of Americans want a new political party. We built it!

Both major parties are racing toward the fringes of the political spectrum, leaving the vast majority of Americans — and the vast majority of Utahns — feeling politically homeless. Millions of voters look at their ballot and see two options that don't represent them, and feel forced to choose a lesser evil rather than a candidate they actually believe in. The Forward Party is a national party that was created to fill that void: a home for the commonsense middle that has been abandoned by both sides.

The Forward Party was formed as the union of several movements around the country dedicated to restoring sanity to American politics, including Utah's own United Utah Party, the Forward PAC, the Serve America Movement, and the Renew America Movement, co-founded by Evan McMullin. These groups recognized a shared conviction that our political system is broken — not because Americans disagree, but because the two-party system rewards extremism, punishes compromise, and leaves no room for leaders who put people over party. By joining forces as the Forward Party, they created a national party with real infrastructure, real candidates, and a real path forward.

At its core, the Forward Party is built on the values of unity, civility, integrity, and good governance. Rather than imposing a rigid platform that all candidates must follow, the party focuses on a set of shared priorities and trusts its candidates to apply those priorities to the unique needs of their communities. Those priorities include:

One of the most important roles the Forward Party plays is restoring accountability to our political system. Today, when elected officials act badly — when they lie, grandstand, or put party loyalty above their oath of office — their constituents often keep voting for them anyway, because the alternative is a candidate from the other party whose views feel even more unacceptable. That dynamic gives bad actors a free pass and removes any incentive to govern well. The Forward Party changes this equation by giving disaffected Republicans and Democrats a candidate they can feel comfortable voting for when their elected leaders fail to meet the standard. When voters have a credible third option, accountability returns.
